Kawartha: The Top 3 Reasons Why Kawartha Lakes Property Values Continue to Rise!

1. Shortage of Inventory

According to The Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association (KLREA), from September 2020 to September 2021, active residential listings have seen a 22.5% decrease to only 134 properties.

This is an all-time low in September for more than three decades!

Due to the low supply of inventory, prices are rising sharply. In September 2021, the single-family benchmark price was $620,700, presenting a 33.1% increase compared to September 2020.

2. Remote Work

The pandemic created an environment for remote work. Most of us no longer need to live in close proximity to our jobs. Therefore, we have been seeing huge growth in small towns, lakeside properties, and cottages.

3. Interest Rates

Record-low interest rates have fueled much of the rally, resulting in higher home prices across the board. If interest rates continue to remain at this level, expect property prices to continue to soar throughout these last few months of 2021.

Great News If You Are Thinking of Selling... For Sellers, you are in the driver’s seat!

As we have seen prices sharply trend upwards over the past two years, you might be thinking of waiting to try to sell at “The Peak”. However, it is very difficult to time “The Peak” of the market. And worst of all… you may miss it altogether!

If you decide to sell anytime soon, you are likely to make a profit.

If you are – make sure you are doing THE RIGHT things to SELL FAST & GET THE HIGHEST SALE PRICE possible. Doing the wrong things costs Sellers thousands.
