The Kawartha Real Estate Association reported the following for May 2022. See the report below...

 

 

Home Sales Down - New Listings Up

 

The number of homes sold through the MLS® System of the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association totaled 109 units in May 2022. This was a major decline of 35.5% from May 2021. 

 

Home sales were down 9.2% below the five-year average and 22.1% below the 10-year average for the month of May. 

 

Active residential listings numbered 216 units on the market at the end of May 2022, a substantial gain of 62.4% year-over-year.

 

New listings saw a gain of 20.6% to 234 residential units in May 2022 compared to last year. 

 

Although increased listings stabilized prices month-over-month, the overall MLS® HPI composite/single-family benchmark price was $806,000 in May 2022, a jump of 30.4% compared to May 2021.
