MLS® vs Realtor.ca

Trying to navigate and understand some of the different terms and meanings? We are starting an education series called Real Estate 101 starting with terminology! Here's some information to clear up any confusion

What is the difference between MLS® and Realtor.ca? Many people think they are the same system.

"MLS® " means: Multiple Listing Service

The MLS is essentially a central registry or database of property listings across Canada. It is a tool for Realtors® to match Buyers with Sellers based on property criteria and features.

"Realtor.ca" takes its feed from local Real Estate Boards such as The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB). Realtor.ca is Canada's most popular and trusted Real Estate platform displaying both residential and commercial listings from Realtors® across the country.

TRREB is the largest Real Estate Board in Canada. Our Team are members of TRREB.

Licensed Realtors® also have more in-depth access to the back-end of MLS®. It allows them to search more in detail about a property. Like sales history, last sale amount, who owns the property, recent sales values of similar properties, etc.

Licensed Realtors® and Brokers have greater access and in-depth knowledge to this and much more important information and data. This is very valuable to help their buyers and sellers establish fair pricing for properties along with other information that could impact the value of a home.
